What the health? I want instant pain relief!

Sometimes, we will need to manage our expectations, of ourselves and of others. Not everything will go to plan perfectly, nor would it be the worst-case scenario. Being realistic about expectations allows us to achieve more, with less stress and anger.

Vintage_ClockThe Chiropractic principle #6 talks about The Principle of Time – “There is no process that does not require time.”

All processes, including recovering from the flu, pack pain (and even the renovation of my new clinic) takes time. There is always a process to achieve the end goal. Sometimes, taking shortcuts to reduce this time causes more stress, disappointment, and the ultimate goal may not be met. Patience is then most precious for healing within and without.

As a chiropractor, a health expert, I realize that I have limitations. When we provide chiropractic care, we do so with the best of our ability, using the best methods, skill, research practices and training. We facilitate the body to heal BY ITSELF, to the BEST OF ITS OWN CAPACITY. This is why some people recover quickly, when others do not. Everyone has different thoughts, experiences, stressors, habits and constitutions. You will not be exactly the same as someone else. Allow your own body to heal, and together (if you are my patient!), we can help it heal faster, and recover stronger, so you can get back to enjoying life!

However, principle #6 doesn’t mean do nothing and wait. Chiropractic principle #15, explains why.

“No Motion without the Effort of Force – Matter can have no motion without the application of force by intelligence.”

What the Health does this mean?

Matter (your ailing body) can have no motion (can’t heal) without the application of force (taking the right action) by intelligence (by conscious decision).

In other words, Your ailing body can’t heal without doing the right things, which you need to actively decide to do.

So if we want our body to heal or change our body shape (slim down or bulk up) we need to apply certain level of thinking and make decision the to create daily habits that will produce the outcomes we desire.
